You will often see lizards lying on rocks in the Sun to help them heat up their body. Birds and mammals are homeothermic which means we can regulate out own body temperature. If we went into a snowy field, we would be able to stay warm because our body would increase metabolism to heat the body. If you but a lizard in the middle of a snowy field, it would get super-cold and might even die.
